WhatsApp Rolls Out Tagging Feature in Status Updates
WhatsApp is rolling out new features, including the ability to like status updates, make private mentions, and reshare status. With this upcoming feature, the Meta-owned platform is taking one step forward to enhance user engagement and connectivity within the app.
“WhatsApp Status is the best way to stay connected with friends and family, and now we’re making it even better. With WhatsApp status likes, private mentions, and the ability to reshare a status you’re mentioned in, we’re making it easier to reach the people who matter most,” stated WhatsApp in a blog post.
How it Works
To tag someone in a WhatsApp status update:
- Open WhatsApp and compose a new status update.
- Type the "@" sign, followed by the contact's name.
- Choose a contact from the given list.
- The tagged contact will receive a notification.
These features are currently being rolled out and will be available to users worldwide shortly. However, if the new feature is not immediately accessible, please wait a few days as it is being gradually rolled out.
“We’ll be bringing more features to Status and the Updates tab over the next few months to make it easier to stay closest to those who matter most,” added WhatsApp.
